Production Personnel
Project
Director & Producer/Writer, B.J. Sharp-Gudmundsson, of Lewisburg, WV, is a native of Pocahontas County.
She attended West Virginia University, and was Station Manager of
WVMR community radio in Dunmore, WV beginning in 1980.
Her work in independent production began with videos for
community organizations producing the United Way of Greenbrier Valley in 1998.
Gudmundsson now
dedicates her time to preserving West Virginia history through film
beginning with the video production of the Monroe Co. Bicentennial play,
Women of Monroe.
Her most recent production is Out
of the Storm which she also wrote and directed.
She continues as that Project’s Director giving public
presentations and promoting the film.
She is currently Project Director of the Pocahontas Co. Free
Libraries’ “Oral History Media Project.”
Co-Producer
& Photographer, Doug Chadwick, of
Hillsboro, WV, received his education in Oregon, Washington State and
Rome, Italy and began working in West Virginia as a photographer for The
Fayette Tribune and The Raleigh Register.
In 1979 he co-produced the film documentary, True
Facts in a Country Song, on the life of WV musician, Everett
Lilly, which aired on WV Public Television.
He recently co-produced Out
of the Storm, and continues in the promotion and presentation of
that film. Chadwick’s
panoramic work has established him as one of the state’s premier
photographers and his work has appeared in Goldenseal since the
magazine’s first year.
Co-Producer
& Assistant Writer, Paul Rose, of
White Sulphur Springs, WV, a graduate of Alfred
University and has lived in West Virginia for 30 years.
In 1980, Rose founded the “West Virginia Radio News Network”
which became “Mountainet News.” He has 30 years of multi-media
experience in directing,
producing, writing, editing and investigative reporting.
His recent productions include United
Way of Greenbrier Valley and he served as a consultant to Out
of the Storm.

Dr.
John A. Cuthbert -
Head of Special Collections and Curator of the West Virginia and
Regional History Collection at West Virginia University and Director of
the West Virginia University Art Collection.

Dr. Cuthbert is curator of David Hunter Strother “One of the
Best Draughtsmen the Country Possesses and is author of the recent
book on West Virginia painters, Early Art and Artists in West
Virginia. He served as
lead historian on “The Galford Lumber Co. Documentary Project”, Out of the Storm and is the recent recipient of the Charles
H. Daugherty Award in the Humanities.
Dr.
Robert S. Conte - Historian
for The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, WV.

Dr.
Conte has served on the West Virginia Humanities Council, is a
current Director of the West Virginia Archives and History Commission
and serves on the board of the Monroe County Historical Society.
Mr. Conte is author of the book, The History of the
Greenbrier: America’s Resort and is frequently interviewed on the
resort’s history for documentaries such as The
Secret Bunker, produced by The History Channel.
William
P. McNeel -
Editor of The Pocahontas Times
in Marlinton, WV.

Bill
McNeel is a
founding member of the Pocahontas County Historical Society and the
Mountain State Railroad and Logging Historical Association.
He is a member and
officer of the West Virginia Historical Society and serves on the West
Virginia Humanities Council. McNeel
is the grandson of the late Calvin Price and has devoted his life to the
study of Pocahontas County history.
He is author of The Durbin Route, the history of the
Greenbrier Division of the C&O Railroad and served as historian on
“The Galford Lumber Co. Documentary Project”, Out
of the Storm.

Gary
Aide of
Ronceverte, WV, graduated from Marshall University. He has worked for
over 20 years doing radio, television and newspaper advertising.
For the past seven years Aide has worked as a freelance
videographer using new DVcam digital production equipment producing
programs and commercials for The Greenbrier, The WV Mining and
Reclamation Assn., The West Virginia State Fair and others. He was producer of the one-hour video, The Flood of ‘96 and his most recent accomplishment is that
of Video Editor on Out of the Storm.
