Congressman Harley Staggers – September, 1952

In Congressman Staggers we have a representative who is a student, a scholar, a teacher, a gentleman and a working Christian – Methodist persuasion. His experience in the House of Representatives has brought out and developed rare abilities as a Statesman.

This is his third campaign for the high office of Congressman. In neither of his two former successful efforts, did he stoop to the old world first rule in politics, to throw mud, to throw mud, and to throw mud, in the hopes some mud might stick. (They now call this Macarthyism.) Nor does he stoop to conquer this year. He offers on his own unblemished record of accomplishment in public service; not the weaknesses of the opposition.
